GENTLE YOGA FOR BEGINNERS

LEARN THE DIFFERENT NAMES OF VARIOUS POSES DURING THIS 60-MINUTE CLASS.  MOVE THROUGH THE DIFFERENT POSES & STRETCHES IN COMBINATION WITH BREATHING TO DEVELOP FLEXIBILITY & INCREASE RELAXATION.

A 60-MINUTE MIX OF CARDIO AND TONING CHOSEN BY THE INSTRUCTOR TO GIVE PARTICIPANTS A TOTAL BODY WORKOUT.  ALL SKILL LEVLES ARE WELCOME!

INTERMEDIATE YOGA

THIS VIGOROUS 60-MINUTE CLASS ENCOURAGES PROPER BODY ALIGNMENT & IMPROVES CORE MUSCLE STRENGTH AS WELL. FOR ANYONE WHO IS FAMILIAR WITH BASIC YOGA POSES AND TERMINOLOGY.

KICKBOXING

THIS INTENSE 60-MINUTE CLASS COMBINES PUNCHES, JABS, KICKS, AND OTHER MARTIAL ARTS TECHNIQUES WITH AEROBICS FOR A COMPLETE WORKOUT.  GREAT STRESS RELIEVER!

LO IMPACT

THIS LOW TO MODERATE INTENSITY 45-MINUTE FITNESS CLASS GIVES YOU AN AEROBIC WORKOUT WHICH INCLUDES FREE WEIGHTS & LOWER BODY CONDITIONING.  A GREAT CLASS FOR BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED.

MEDITATION

For all leveLs of meditators. No previous experience IS necessary FOR THIS 60-minute session dedicated to relaxation and the pursuit of a peaceful mind WITH EMPHASIS  on THE relaxation of the physical body, breath awareness and gentle focusing of the mind through ancient meditation techniques.

WATER AEROBICS

THIS 45-MINUTE CLASS USES DEEP WATER MOVEMENTS WITH AN EMPHASIS ON CARDIOVASCULAR ACTIVITY.  FLOAT BELTS AND HAND-HELD WATER WEIGHTS ARE USED TO CHALLENGE PARTICIPANTS.  THIS CLASS IS GREAT FOR ALL FITNESS LEVELS AND PEOPLE WITH JOINT PROBLEMS.

Pool Policies

  • All current UNCA Students, staff, faculty, and rec pass holders with valid ID are allowed to use the pool for lap swim or open rec swim.
  • ALL PATRONS MUST SHOWER BEFORE ENTERING THE POOL.
  • No outside floatation devices or other items allowed in the pool other than noodles.  Lifejackets are allowed.
  • The pool must be closed for thunder and lightning.
  • The deck office is for staff use only except for emergencies.
  • *The kayak roll session fee for outside community members is $5
  • No running
  • No glass or pets in pool area.
  • Do not climb, stand, or sit on lane lines.
  • Food, drinks, and gum are not allowed in pool area.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Share lanes when pool is busy.
  • One whistle blast: Listen
  • Two whistle blasts: Clear the pool

Monday-Thursday: 6:30 AM- 10:00 PM
Friday: 6:30 AM- 8:00 PM
Saturday: 12:00 PM- 6:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM- 9:00 PM

Special event and holiday hours are posted as needed.

The weight room is prioritized for Health and Wellness Department academic class 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday through Thursday.
