Investigations Unit

The Investigations Unit provides investigative support to other department members.  Other duties also include conducting follow-up investigations, maintaining case management records, processing and storing evidence, providing statistical information, coordinating crime prevention programs, promoting substance abuse education and acts as the department liaison with other law enforcement and support agencies.

Crime prevention activities are also coordinated through this unit. During fall and spring orientation, the Investigator is available to provide incoming students with crime prevention material and to make these students aware of our services. Periodically, the Investigator or Patrol Officers participate in providing educational programs in classrooms and residence halls.

Through cooperation with the Public Information Officer, the Investigator assures that timely and accurate information is released on crimes endangering the campus community. Additional crime prevention activities include providing security risk assessments and providing engraving and registration programs for university and personal property.  All of these services help educate the community and make them part of our crime prevention solution.
