Printing and Mailing

State regulations require that we solicit at least three bids and accept the lowest bid. (See the North Carolina Policies and Procedures Manual, available via UNC Asheville Human Resources Web page.) The director of University Publications will handle this aspect of your project. We endeavor to get on-time delivery and the best quality printing for your budget.

University Publications primarily uses printers in Asheville and the Southeast, but our vendors include companies around the country, depending on the scope of the project. University Publications also will assist you in obtaining three bids for the mailing of your publication, because delivery directly to the mailhouse can expedite your project.

After you have signed off on the final proof of your publication, the graphic designer will prepare the publication for printing (prepress) and send it to the printer. The printer will deliver your publication directly to the location you request, whether it is your office or a mailhouse. University Publications cannot be the designated delivery location.
