Henry of Ghent, who taught initially in the Faculty of Arts in Paris before 1276
and subsequently in the Faculty of Theology in Paris from 1276 until his death
in 1293, was an important and influential thinker. His major two works, namely
his fifteen Quodlibeta and his Quaestiones Ordinariae (Summa),
along with his previously unedited works, are currently being edited in the
series Henrici de Gandavo Opera omnia by the DeWulf-Mansion
Center (Dr. Prof. Carlos Steel, Director) of the Higher Institute of
Philosophy at the Catholic University of
Leuven, Belgium. Launched in the 1970s by Dr. Raymond Macken, who served
as the first general coordinator, the series is now coordinated by Prof. Gordon
A. Wilson, the University of North Carolina at
Asheville.
