UNC Asheville's Writers at Home Series will
continue with readings by local authors Susan Leffler and Marian
Plant at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55
Haywood St. The event is free and open to the public.
Leffler has published poems in a host of journals, including Icarus,
Asheville Poetry Review, Appalachian Heritage and Lights in the
Mountains. She has also published a chapbook, "Rendering the Bones."
Her photographic history, "Brevard," was published by Arcadia Press
in their "Images of America" series in 2004. Leffler is currently a
contributing writer and editor-at-large for Smoky Mountain Living
magazine.
Plaut has published poetry and prose in Passager and Main Street
Rag. Her poem "Bell's Palsy" received honorable mention in Kakalak
2008, an anthology of Carolina poets. She worked for many years as a
psychotherapist in community mental health and currently lives in
Madison County.
