UNC Asheville's Writers at Home Series Continues with Readings by Students

UNC Asheville's Writers at Home Series continues with readings by winners of the University's Writing Scholarship at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St., downtown Asheville. UNC Asheville students Ethan Bradley, Joanna Knowles, Kristen Marshall and Jeremy Rice will read from their recent works. The event is free and open to the public.

Ethan Bradley, junior creative writing and multimedia arts and sciences major, is a Southern influenced writer with a special love for short fiction. He is currently writing a series of short stories based on prisons in the South.

Senior creative writing major Joanna Knowles has published poems and essays in Metabolism, Rapid River and the Mountain Xpress. She currently has two poems featured in the Nantahala Review.

Kristen Marshall, senior mass communication major from Cary, has served as the news editor for UNC Asheville's student newspaper. She now works as the managing and layout editor.

Jeremy Rice, senior creative writing major from Hendersonville, mostly writes short fiction that focuses on the comic and absurd aspects of the human experience.
