UNC Asheville’s Board of Trustees will meet
Thursday and Friday, March 27-28, in UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center,
room 206.
The board will gather for lunch at noon Thursday and will convene
its meeting at 12:30 p.m. with remarks from Board of Trustees Chair
Janice Brumit, followed by a presentation on Undergraduate Research.
Chancellor Anne Ponder will give remarks at 2 p.m. and the Student
Affairs Program Report will be presented at 3:45 p.m. The meeting
will adjourn at 4:30 p.m.
On Friday, March 28, the board will meet for breakfast at 8 a.m. The
meeting will convene at 8:30 a.m. with committee and program
reports, including those from Finance and Campus Operations,
Academic Affairs, Audit, External Relations, General Counsel, Alumni
& Development, Athletics and Diversity. Brumit will give closing
remarks.
The meeting is open to the public. Portions of the meeting may be
closed to the public under the provision of the North Carolina Open
Meetings Act.
The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees has 13 members; eight are
appointed by the UNC Board of Governors and four are appointed by
the governor. The UNC Asheville Student Government Association
president, who is elected by the student body, also sits on the
board. The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees promotes the sound
development of the University and serves as advisor to the Board of
Governors and the chancellor.
