The North Carolina Center for Creative
Retirement and UNC Asheville's Health & Wellness Promotions
Department will host a wellness fair for all ages from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 15, in UNC Asheville's Reuter Center. The "Live Well"
fair is held in conjunction with the Center's yearlong 20th
anniversary celebration. The event is free and open to the public.
"This won't be your typical senior wellness fair," said Ron
Manheimer, North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement director.
"Center members are working with students in the Health and Wellness
Department to create a truly inter-generational event that displays
the wide variety of wellness pursuits in Asheville."
The fair will feature vendors and information booths from the
traditional and holistic health communities, as well as a host of
speakers. Presentations will be ongoing throughout day, with talks
and demonstrations beginning every 30 minutes. Topics will include
organic foods, homeopathy, acupuncture, integrative medicine, yoga,
sexuality and more. In addition, students enrolled in A-B Tech's
Massage Program will offer free chair massages and healthy food will
be provided.
Designated free parking will be available in Parking Lot A on Campus
Drive. A shuttle service, running throughout the day, will take
guests to and from the Reuter Center. A campus map is available
online at
www.unca.edu/campusmap/. Driving directions to UNC Asheville
are online at
