Timothy Tyson Talks Scheduled for February 1 at UNC Asheville and Pack Memorial Library Postponed

The possibility of a significant winter storm Wednesday night and Thursday has prompted organizers to postpone the two talks by noted author Timothy B. Tyson scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1.

Tyson’s 12:15 p.m. talk at UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium and his 7 p.m. talk at Pack Memorial Library have both been postponed. Organizers are working to reschedule these events. New dates will be announced when they become available.

Tyson, a senior research scholar at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, is best known as the author of the non-fiction memoir, “Blood Done Sign My Name,” which recounts his childhood as the son of a Methodist minister and his encounters with the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and 1970s in Oxford and Wilmington, N.C.

For more information, call UNC Asheville at 828/251-6227 and Pack Memorial Library at 828/250-4700.
