UNC Asheville to Host Talk by Noted Author Philip Terman

UNC Asheville will host a reading and talk by noted Jewish author Philip Terman at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in UNC Asheville's Laurel Forum, Karpen Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Terman is the author of the acclaimed book of poetry, "Rabbis of the Air," from which he will read. His other books include "The House of Sages" and "Book of the Unbroken Days." His poems have appeared in many journals and anthologies, including "The Georgia Review," "Poetry," "Tikkun," "The Kenyon Review" and "Blood to Remember: American Poets Respond to the Holocaust."

Terman is the recipient of the Sow's Ear Chapbook Award, The Kennetch Patchen Prize and the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Award for Poems on the Jewish Experience. Terman is a professor of creative writing and literature at Clarion University in Clarion, Pa. and co-directs the Chautauqua Writers' Festival at the Chautauqua Institution in Jamestown, N.Y.
