The award-winning calendar features photos, text and application deadlines.

Two recent UNC Asheville publications recently received top awards in the southeastern region from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the leading international organization for college advancement professionals. A calendar for prospective students won the Improvement of Design Award in the visual design category, while the UNC Asheville Annual Fund Programs’ online Flash site received the Special Merit Award.

Some 15,000 copies of the calendar were distributed to prospective students across the nation. The 2006-07 calendar contained images of the University, information about UNC Asheville, and application deadlines. Due in part to this effective new recruitment piece, the UNC Asheville Admissions Office reported a 27% increase in applications this year.

The Flash site combined the sounds of the University’s alma mater with images of students, faculty and the campus. This high-tech, multimedia publication was e-mailed to some 4,900 UNC Asheville alumni. The award-winning Flash site can be viewed at www.unca.edu/alumni/flash/.
