UNC Asheville’s Student Management Association will host a talk on “Starting and Running a Global Business from Asheville” by Paul Samuels, president of Kimmel Worldwide Logistics. Samuels will speak at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, in UNC Asheville’s Owen Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Samuels’ talk will include a brief overview of the creation, development and implementation of a successful global business based in Asheville. He will also discuss the challenges of doing business worldwide, including communicating in different languages and time zones, currency conversions, and cultural differences.

Samuels joined Kimmel and Associates in 1987 and was promoted to president of Kimmel Worldwide Logistics in 2005. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Southern Illinois University. An avid adventure traveler and photographer, Samuels serves on UNC Asheville’s National Parents’ Council and volunteers as a career counselor at the University’s Career Development Center.
