UNC Asheville's Family Business Forum to Host Talk on
Non-Family Employees
UNC Asheville’s Family Business Forum will host two
workshops on “Working for a Family Business: A Non-Family Employee’s
Guide to Success” from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, in UNC
Asheville’s Reuter Center. Chris Eckrich, award-winning family business
consultant, will conduct the workshops. Lunch will be served between the
two sessions.
The morning workshop will focus on issues
concerning non-family employees from the family business owner’s
perspective, while the afternoon workshop will concentrate on topics
related to non-family employees working in a family business.
Participants will receive a copy of Eckrich’s book “Working for a Family
Business: A Non-Family Employee’s Guide to Success.”
Eckrich, who holds a doctorate from Purdue
University, has served as a faculty member at the University of Notre
Dame and is a founding advisor to The Family Business Center at the
University of Saint Frances. He is a principal in The Family Business
Consulting Group and received the Family Firm Institute’s Outstanding
Doctoral Dissertation Award for his research on family business
dynamics.
Registration is required. The program is open to
forum members and their guests. A limited number of seats are available
for family business owners interested in membership.
