UNC Asheville's Fall Open House, Future Teachers Workshop Both Set for October 16UNC Asheville's Admissions Office will host an open house for high school and transfer students and their families from 8:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, in the University’s Health & Fitness Center. Events will include student-led campus tours and sessions on admission, academic and extracurricular programs, scholarships and other financial aid. Interested students should register for the Open House by Friday, Oct. 8. A confirmation packet including directions, a campus parking permit, and a list of area accommodations will be mailed after registration. Registration will be accepted by phone by calling the Admissions Office at 828/251-6481 or 800/531-9842 or click on www.unca.edu/admissions/openhouses/. The fifth annual Opening Doors to Teaching workshop for high school juniors and seniors interested in a teaching career will be held in conjunction with the Open House. The program will be held from 1:30-4 p.m. in the Highsmith University Union Mountain Suites. Peter Bobbe, the regional Teacher of the Year, will give the keynote address. Information about UNC Asheville’s Education Department and Teaching Fellows Scholarship Program will be available.
