Timothy N. McClain Named Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development at UNC Asheville

Timothy N. McClain recently was named Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development-Special Projects at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. McClain will focus his work on selected specific needs of the University for which private funding is being sought. His work will be in major capital gifts to UNC Asheville as well as in estate and life income gifts.

McClain joined UNC Asheville’s Department of Alumni and Development as director of gift planning and endowments in May 2004. Previously, he served for four years as associate director of the annual fund in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations at Pennsylvania State University, where he was an integral part of Penn State’s $1.3 billion capital campaign. McClain separated from the U.S. Air Force as staff sergeant in 1998 after eleven years of service. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa.
