UNCA Writers at Home Series Continues with Readings by Aly Goodwin and Naomi Johnson

UNC Asheville's Writers at Home fall series continues with readings by Aly Goodwin and Naomi Johnson at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St. Writers at home is part of the Great Smokies Writing Program. The event is free and open to the public.

Goodwin, a native of North Carolina, has had her poems appear in several reviews and won first place twice in the N.C. Poetry Society's annual contest. She received a James Larkin Pearson award from the Poetry Council of N.C.

Johnson's fiction, non-fiction and poetry have appeared in a variety of publications. She was the recipient of a Pillsbury Foundation Creative Writing Grant and a Syvenna Foundation Fellowship. Johnson has worked as a translator, an ESL teacher, and a counselor for children of domestic violence.
