UNCA to Host Talk on Early China and Ancient RomeUNC Asheville will host a talk on "Law, Nature and Transcendence in Early China and Ancient Rome" by Jeffrey L. Richey at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in UNCA’s Laurel Forum, Karpen Hall. Richey, an assistant professor of religion at Berea College in Kentucky, is a scholar of East Asian religions. The event is free and open to the public. Richey holds a doctorate in the cultural and historical study of religions from the University of California at Berkeley Graduate Theological Union and a master’s degree in religions of the world from Harvard University. Prior to coming to Berea College, Richey taught religious studies at the University of Findlay and the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. His teaching and research interests focus on Asian Religions, early Chinese thought, and philosophy and religion in the ancient world.
