UNCA's Writers at Home Series Continues with Readings
by Margaret Rabb and Rachelle Rogers

UNC Asheville’s Writers at Home fall series continues with readings by local writers Margaret Rabb and Rachelle Rogers at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Malaprop’s Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St. Writers at Home is part of the Great Smokies Writing Program, a consortium of Western Carolina writers and UNCA’s Creative Writing Program. The event is free and open to the public.

Rabb, a poet, teaches creative writing at UNC Chapel Hill. Her book "Granite Dives" received North Carolina’s Roanoke-Chowan Award. Her chapbook, "Figments of the Firmament," won the Harperprints Chapbook Competition. Rabb’s work has won the Louisiana Literature Prize for Poetry, the Hackney Literary Award from the Writing Today Conference and the Wood Award for Distinguished Writing from the Carolina Quarterly.

Rogers, author of the nonfiction "Creative Crafts Desk Handbook," has received honorable mention in competitions for memoir, poetry and short story. Her work has appeared in several literary journals. She was granted a 2002 Wildacres Artist Residency. Rogers is currently working on a second novel and teaches a Crafting Fiction workshop.
