UNCA Student Accepted into 2003 College National
Wind Ensemble; Will Perform at Carnegie Hall

Shannon Siemens

Flutist Shannon Siemens, a UNC Asheville junior music performance and computer science major, was recently accepted into the 2003 College National Wind Ensemble. She will perform with the ensemble at Carnegie Hall on May 25, 2003.

Siemens was selected for the competition based on resumes, letters of recommendation and performance auditions or recordings. She was one of only 70 students selected for the performance from a national pool.

Participants will reside in New York for five days, culminating in the Carnegie Hall performance. H. Robert Reynolds, formerly of the University of Michigan, will conduct the ensemble.
