N.C. Center for Creative Retirement's College for Seniors
Offers Winter Term
This winter, reinvigorate your mind and get your body moving by
choosing among 35, four-week long courses in UNC Asheville’s nationally
renowned College for Seniors. With no tests, grades or prerequisites
besides your curiosity and age (50 and over), you can dig the history of
jazz, learn how to buy and sell on the Internet, increase your range of
motion, meditate, explore Chinese medicine, stand in the shoes of the
kings and queens of England, and revisit what went wrong in the Vietnam
era.
Or, if science is your thing, take a course on biogeography, modern
technology, phosphorus, lasers, or the environment. Twentieth century art,
German literature, or Charles Frazier’s "Cold Mountain" can be
mixed with Sherlock Holmes, bridge, wine tasting, and "Moby
Dick." There’s something for everyone and great companionship, too.
The winter term runs from January 21 to February 17 and costs $56 for
as many classes as you can schedule plus a parking permit, UNCA library
card and more. To enroll, call 828/251-6384. College for Seniors is a
program of the North Carolina Center for Creative
Retirement, now in its
15th year.
