UNCA Faculty, Students and Alumni Present Charitable Dance
Program on October 25
UNC Asheville faculty, students and alumni will present "Everybody
Can-Can," a charitable dance performance to benefit Manna Food Bank,
at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in UNCA’s Lipinsky Auditorium. Admission
is $5 or three cans of food.
Some 50 performers, including guest dancers from the community, will
present eight pieces in the hour-long program. The performance will
highlight a variety of styles, including modern, ballet, Middle Eastern,
African, jazz and performance art. Classical guitarist David Stevenson
will be featured both in collaboration with UNCA guest faculty member
Kathy Foresberg and as a solo performer.
"It would be hard to find a concert with more variety of styles
and techniques," said Connie Schrader, performance coordinator.
"The program will delight dance lovers while benefiting an important
organization in our community."
