UNCA to Host UNC Association of Student Governments Meeting

UNC Asheville will host the University of North Carolina Association of Student Governments’ December meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in UNCA’s Red Oak Room, Ramsey Library. Composed of representatives from all 16 University of North Carolina student government associations, ASG will discuss tuition, financial aid, budget cuts and other educational concerns involving students. The organization meets monthly on different campuses across the state.

Founded in 1972 by former UNC President William Friday, ASG is based on similar principles and construction of UNCA’s Student Government Association. It actively involves students in governmental relations relevant to their institutions, while promoting unity and cooperative efforts among the UNC school system.
