| For Immediate Release October 23, 2001 UNCA Continuing and Professional Education Programs Offer Courses on Life Transitions UNC Asheville’s Continuing and Professional Education program offers several courses this fall to help people make life transitions. Classes are open to the community. "The Power of Ritual" explores the value that rituals have played in cultures by creating community, focused intention, rites of passage, love and much more. Participants will learn the essential components of this powerful tool as they create rituals for themselves, their families and their businesses. This one day workshop will meet from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at UNCA. "Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement" has added a second session based on high demand. This course offers a conservative approach to wise money management at the challenging time of retirement. This four-week course meets from 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning November 6, at Reynolds High School. Business leaders, executives, entrepreneurs and adults in transition, who want to bring out the best in themselves and to direct their lives, are using coaches. "Personal and Professional Coaching" explores this exciting new field to show how coaches go beyond the ordinary and move people from potential to action. This one-day workshop will meet from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at UNCA. Teachers are prime candidates for burnout, but "Teaching from the Heart: A Renewal Workshop for Educators" will jumpstart teachers’ enthusiasm again. Participants will learn practical ways to renew their connection to teaching while providing inspiration for classroom adaptation and usage. This one-day workshop will meet from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at UNCA. "Career Transitions: Do What You Are" involves career testing and interpretation, personalized goal-setting and development of job strategies. Attend a group meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at UNCA, and then meet for two individualized career counseling session to focus on your particular needs.
