UNCA's Writers at Home Series Presents
Nancy Dillingham and Gwenda Ledbetter

UNC Asheville’s fall 2001 Writers at Home reading series continues at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Malaprop’s Bookstore/Cafe, 55 Haywood St., downtown Asheville with readings by local authors Nancy Dillingham and Gwenda Ledbetter. Writers at Home is part of the Great Smokies Writing Program, a consortium of the Western North Carolina writers’ community and UNCA’s Creative Writing Program. The program is free and open to the public.

Dillingham is the author of "New Ground," collection of short stories and poetry set in Dillingham, N.C., where she grew up. She is an instructor at A-B Tech, where she serves on the editorial board of "Victoria Press," the school’s faculty and staff literary magazine. Dillingham’s most recent book is "The Ambiguity of Morning."

Ledbetter was the Story Lady for many years at Asheville’s Pack Library and on WLOS-TV. She has told and taught for the National Storytelling Organization and has stories published in four storytelling anthologies. Her children’s tape, "The Bee, the Harp, the Mouse and the Bumclock," won a Notable from the American Library Association. Ledbetter is currently working on a book about growing up on the eastern shore of Virginia.
