UNCA Music Department Kicks Off Fall Concert Season

Eclectic marimba and classy jazz are the focus of the UNCA Music Department’s September concert series. All events are open to the public.

-- Nathan Daughtrey, UNC-Greensboro faculty member, will perform a marimba concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, in Lipinsky Hall room 018. Daughtrey has been hailed as one the leading voices on marimba who performs with virtuosic facility and extraordinary musical sensitivity. A donation of $5 to benefit UNCA’s Music Department will be suggested at the door.

-- Popular jazz duo Lucianne Evans on vocals and UNCA faculty member Tom Coppola on piano will appear in concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, in Lipinsky Auditorium. The program, a tribute to Louis Armstrong, will also feature UNCA faculty members Greg Alewine on bass and Bryron Hedgepeth on drums. A donation of $5 to benefit UNCA's Music Department will be suggested at the door.
