Standardized Test Prep Classes Offered
Registration is now open for SAT, LSAT and GRE test prep classes offered by Special Academic Programs. All classes will meet from 6-9 p.m. on campus. The SAT prep course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from October 11-27. Cost for the course is $275, which includes study materials. The LSAT prep class will meet Mondays and Wednesday from October 11-November 17. Cost for the course is $500, which includes study materials and practice disk. The GRE prep course will be held on Tuesday and Thursdays from October 12-November 4. Cost for the course is $325, which includes study materials and practice disk. Required Teachers' Course Offered
Registration is now open for Effective Teacher Training, a required course for teaching and substituting in some North Carolina public school systems, including Buncombe County and Asheville public schools. The class will meet from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on four consecutive Saturdays October 23-November 13 on campus. Cost is $75 plus textbook, which is available at the bookstore. Three continuing education credits are available with a $15 processing fee due with a completed form at the end of class. Young Engineers Invited to Test Their Creativity in Design Competitions 
Young engineers are invited to test their skills at building bridges and marshmallow catapults at the Engineering Design Competition sponsored by the Engineering Department. The competition for high school students will be held from noon-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in the Health and Fitness Center. The competitions are open to students in grades 9-12. Teams may be made up of members from any school or organization. Any interested group may participate. Registration deadline for the event is October 15. Entries must meet project specifications.
