COMING UP

Family Business Forum Kicks Off 2004-05 Season
The Family Business Forum will kick off its 2004-05 program season Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the Highsmith University Union Cafe with the one-act play "A Tough Nut to Crack." The play chronicles the relationship between a father and son working side by side for 20 years. The program will open with a 6 p.m. reception; curtain is at 6:45 p.m. Psychologist Ron Reece will lead a discussion following the performance. Registration is required. The program is open to forum members and their guests. A limited number of seats are available for family business owners interested in membership. Hurricane Relief Drive
The Campus Police Department is collecting non-monetary donations to assist with relief efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Charley and Frances. Needed items include bottled water, non-perishable food, baby food, pet food, personal hygiene items, first aid supplies, flashlights, candles, small toys, cleaning supplies, paper goods, charcoal and tarps. Donations should be dropped off at Vance Hall.

Registration Now Open for Super Saturday Program 
Gifted, creative and motivated 3rd-8th graders have an opportunity to explore world cultures, learn dog obedience training, try their hand at rocket science and much more at the 19th annual Super Saturday Program beginning September 25.  Some 33 unique courses are open for registration. Super Saturday courses meet 9 a.m.-noon for six Saturdays between September 25 and November 6. There will be no classes on October 16. All students are welcome to apply. Tuition for each individual course or $55 for children of UNCA employees. Deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 17. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available; the scholarship deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 7. Free Fitness Assessments
Dominique Ennis, assistant director of campus life for wellness, is now offering free fitness assessments for students, faculty and staff. The one-hour assessment is valued at $300. The confidential, non-invasive tests include blood pressure, resting heart rate, height, weight, body fat, aerobic fitness, flexibility, and upper body strength. Campus Ministry Offers Protestant Communion
From 5-6 p.m. every Tuesday, there will be a Protestant communion service in the Campus Ministry House, followed by a snack supper. People of any denomination are welcome. For more information, call Rev. Amy Rio-Anderson at 250-3842.

Registration Now Open for Financial Investing Classes
Special Academic Programs will offer "Educating Investors Through the 21st Century" at locations in Asheville and Hendersonville. The Asheville class will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays from September 21-October 12 in the Owen Conference Center. The Hendersonville class will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays from September 9-30 at the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Henderson County Center. Cost is $95 per person or $145 per couple. Deadline to register for the Asheville class is June 20; deadline to register for the Hendersonville class is August 30. Fulbright Application Deadline is Approaching
The Fulbright Program aims to foster mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange. Each year, the program provides funding for approximately 1,000 American students from all disciplines to study or conduct research in more than 140 countries. Graduating seniors, postgraduate candidates and developing professionals and artists may apply. The campus application deadline is October 4.
