COMING UP

TheatreUNCA Auditions
TheatreUNCA will hold faculty, staff and student auditions for the fall productions of "Go Dog Go" and "Playboy of the Western World" August 19-21. Scripts to review are on reserve at the main desk in Ramsey Library under Drama/Snoyer. "Go Dog Go" will be staged from September 23-October 3. It will be directed by Patricia Snoyer and will be produced in partnership with the North Carolina Stage Company.  "Playboy of the Western World" will be staged from November 17-21 under the direction of Scott Walters. Art Faculty to Hold Annual Exhibition
The Art Department faculty will hold an annual exhibition of their work from August 27-September 28 in University Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the gallery. Works will be on view by Dianne Cable, S. Tucker Cooke, Virginia Derryberry, Robert Dunning, Karen Ives, Scott Lowrey, Dan Millspaugh, Mark Peters, Robert Tynes, Larry White and Megan Wolfe. PSAT Prep Class
Registration is now open for a PSAT prep class offered by Special Academic Programs. The six-week class will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays from September 4-October 9 on the UNC Asheville campus. Cost is $275 and includes all study materials. Registration deadline is August 25. Late registrations will be accepted after August 25 for an additional $10 fee. Leadership Asheville Accepting Applications for 2004-2005 Program
Leadership Asheville is now accepting applications for the 2004-2005 class.  Following a two-day opening retreat in September, the program meets one day per month through May. In addition to topic/training sessions, all participants are given the opportunity to make a difference in the community by working on team service projects that address community needs. Tuition is $1,200; partial scholarships are available. For more information, contact Gerry Goertz at 251-6125 or leadership@unca.edu.

Leadership Training for Older Persons
Registration is now open for the Center for Creative Retirement's Leadership Training for Older Persons. This free, six-week course is designed to teach leadership skills to underserved and minority adults ages 50 and older who reside in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison and Transylvania counties. Leadership Training for Older Persons will meet from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays September 7-October 12, on campus. The application deadline is Monday, Aug. 16.
