22nd Annual Concerts on the Quad
The 22nd annual Concerts on the Quad series will take place at 7 p.m. Mondays through July 19. The free concerts will include performances by Hot Club of Cowtown, the Jazz Composers' Forum, Shady Oak Ramblers, Roger Day and many more. Central Stores Closed for Inventory

Financial Investing Classes in Asheville and Hendersonville
Special Academic Programs will offer financial investing class at locations in Asheville and Hendersonville. The Asheville class will meet from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays June 8-29 at the Owen Conference Center. The Hendersonville class will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays June 14-24 at the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Henderson County Center. Cost is $95 per person or $145 per couple. Deadline to register for the Asheville class is June 7; deadline to register for the Hendersonville class is June 11. For more information or to register, call  Special Academic Programs at 251-6558. Health & Fitness Center Summer Hours
From June 7-July 30, the Health & Fitness Center will be open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Summer pool hours are 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Safety Tip
If you are outside when lightning is striking nearby, keep a distance of 15 feet from other people and crouch down close to the ground.

Energy Tip
Don't place lamps, televisions or other heat-producing appliances near the air conditioner thermostat. Even the small amount of heat produced by appliances may cause the air conditioner to run longer than it should.
