UNCA Fall Celebration,
October 5-October 8, 2000
UNC Asheville's Fall Celebration features four special events -- the Installation of Chancellor James H. Mullen Jr., Founders Day, Family Weekend and Fall Fling.
The Installation of Chancellor Mullen, a formal ceremony which signifies the official taking of office, will be presided over by UNC President Molly Corbett Broad. This colorful event incorporates traditions and regalia linked to centuries of higher education.
Founders Day is a fall tradition marked by a campuswide picnic on the University Quadrangle, alumni reunions, commemorative events highlighting the university's history, and the presentation of the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Family Weekend, sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, brings together students, their families and the campus community for special events, notably the Fall Fling Festival on the University Quadrangle. It's a weekend to celebrate fall in the mountains with family, friends, colleagues and classmates, and to delight in the UNC Asheville experience.
