Online Women's Studies Class Offered

This spring the University will offer an online women's studies class worth three credit hours. The deadline to register is January 7, 2010. "Theorizing Women's Lives" (WMST 273) will examine the elements and evolution of the major theories articulated by feminists from the early days of the movement to present day. Building on a foundation of knowledge and understanding of the basic ideas articulated by feminists throughout history, the course will offer a close analysis of feminist critiques on subjects including marriage, sexuality, capitalism and "cutting edge" feminist thinking. In-state tuition for these courses is $267.30 and out-of-state tuition is $1,454.82, plus a one-time non-refundable $20 application fee. For more information, call 828/232-5122 or email fox@unca.edu. H1N1 Influenza Information for Those Attending Upcoming Campus Events

While the H1N1 influenza appears to be mild in otherwise healthy people, it can spread easily from person to person. Social distancing is one of the best ways to help curb the spread of the flu. Therefore, UNC Asheville health officials strongly discourage members of the public with influenza-like symptoms from attending campus events until they are free of fever for at least 24 hours. If you have questions about whether you are well enough to attend campus events, call UNC Asheville's Health Services at 828/251-6520.
