New Grant to Fund Improvements at the Rudnick Trail at the Center for Craft, Creativity & Design

The Perry N. Rudnick Endowment Fund of the Community Foundation of Henderson County has awarded a $19,000 grant to UNC Asheville’s Center for Craft, Creativity & Design (CCC&D) to improve the center's popular Perry N. Rudnick Nature and Public Art Trail. Funds will be used to update and print trail maps, repair and add signage, clear debris, and add new plants.

UNC Asheville Celebrates 83rd Annual Commencement

More than 5,000 family and friends gathered on UNC Asheville's Quadrangle Saturday morning to celebrate UNC Asheville's 2011 graduating class. Some 691 students were honored as the Class of 2011 during the 83nd Commencement Ceremony, including 447 spring graduates, 212 winter graduates and 32 summer graduates.

New UNC System President Thomas W. Ross to Deliver UNC Asheville Commencement Address; C.D. Spangler to Receive Honorary Degree at May 7 Ceremony

Thomas W. Ross, new president of the University of North Carolina system, will deliver the commencement address, and business and education leader C.D. Spangler will receive an honorary doctoral degree when UNC Asheville holds its May 2011 Commencement at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7. The university is expecting 5,000 people, including graduates, faculty and guests, to fill the University Quadrangle for the ceremony.
