UNC Asheville Hosts Panel on Media Ethics on October 5

UNC Asheville's Mass Communication Department will host a panel discussion on ethical issues in today's media from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, in Highsmith University Union's Mountain Suites. The event is free and open to the public.
$25,000 Progress Energy Grant to Benefit Undergraduate Engineering Labs at UNC Asheville

The University of North Carolina at Asheville announced today a $25,000 grant from Progress Energy to support the university’s joint engineering programs with N.C. State. The grant will be used to purchase lab equipment needed for engineering courses and undergraduate research.

UNC Asheville's Board of Trustees announced today that it has named a Multimedia Arts and Sciences computer lab in honor of Greg and Jennifer Mayer (Class of '04) of Charlotte Street Computers, who recently made a donation of $25,000 to the university. Renowned record producer Elliot Mazer has joined the faculty at UNC Asheville this spring to teach an upper-level course on record production. The class is designed as a tour through the recording process from a raw song to a finished recorded product.
