New Exhibition, “Now but Not Yet,” to Open at UNC Asheville’s Cooke Gallery

“Now but Not Yet,” a new exhibit of drawings and installations by UNC Asheville senior Dona Barnett, will be on view March 2-20 in the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery in UNC Asheville’s Owen Hall. An opening reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, in the gallery.

Theatre UNCA to Perform Molière’s “Tartuffe”

Theatre UNCA will stage Molière’s 1664 satiric comedy, “Tartuffe,” with seven performances from March 22–31 in the university’s Carol Belk Theatre. “Tartuffe” is the story of a con man pretending to be a religious figure, and the family he tricks.

Community Activism, Art and Activism are Subjects of Panel Discussions at UNC Asheville

UNC Asheville’s Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies program will host two panel discussions on the role of activism. Both panels take place in Karpen Hall’s Laurel Forum on campus. Both are free and open to the public.

A Full Season of Student Performances with UNC Asheville’s Music Department

UNC Asheville’s Music Department has a busy season of student performances planned on campus this spring. Upcoming are two performances scheduled in February, three in March, and three in April. Admission is $5 at the door for each performance, with students and children free.

“State of the Black Student” Highlights Black History Month at UNC Asheville

UNC Asheville will celebrate Black History Month throughout February with a series of events, headlined by a distinguished panel analyzing the “State of the Black Student.”

Art Opening: “Vantage Point” – Exhibition by UNC Asheville’s Student Art Organization

Art Front, UNC Asheville's student art organization, presents “Vantage Point,” the annual juried Art Front members show, through February 8, at Highsmith University Union Gallery on the campus. UNC Asheville Art History faculty and students selected the works for this show. There will be an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 13, in the gallery.
