UNC Asheville's Concerts on the Quad Continues with ELM Collective

UNC Asheville's 28th annual Concerts on the Quad summer music series continues with the world music sounds of ELM Collective at 7 p.m. Monday, June 21, on the Quad. The event is free and open to the public.

Registration is now open for a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) prep course offered by UNC Asheville's Professional Education Program. Classes will meet on UNC Asheville's campus beginning July 13.

UNC Asheville Kicks Off 28th Annual Concerts on the Quad Summer Music Series

Music lovers of all ages will enjoy free concerts at UNC Asheville’s 28th annual Concerts on the Quad summer music series. Concerts get under way at 7 p.m. each Monday evening June 14-July 21 on UNC Asheville’s Quad. The series will conclude with special, ticketed performances of the Folkmoot USA Festival on July 24-25.

Thespian Insurrection Productions Debuts with "Line" and "Cinderhood" May 27-30

Thespian Insurrection Productions, a newly formed summer stock company founded by current UNC Asheville drama students and alumni, will stage the Off-Broadway play “Line” May 28-30 and a children’s themed show “Cinderhood” May 27, 29 and 30 at UNC Asheville’s Carol Belk Theatre.

RENCI at UNC Asheville Hosts Public Open House on June 4

The Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) at UNC Asheville will hold a drop-in open house from 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, June 4, at the RENCI at UNC Asheville Engagement Site, located in the Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville. The event is free and open to the public.

Four Workshops Offered at N.C. Center for Creative Retirement

The North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement (NCCCR) will offer a series of hands-on summer workshops. The courses, which are open to students of all ages and skills, will take place in June and July at UNC Asheville's Reuter Center.

UNC Asheville to Hold Live Emergency Response Training Exercise May 21

As part of UNC Asheville's efforts to enhance campus safety, the university will be joined by a number of community agencies for a live emergency response training exercise on campus on Friday, May 21. The training exercise will be conducted by EnviroSafe Consulting and Investigations Inc., a firm hired by University of North Carolina General Administration to conduct training and simulations at each of the 17 UNC system campuses.

UNC Asheville's Great Smokies Writing Program Offers Summer Workshops

Local writers will have the opportunity to hone their skills with UNC Asheville's Great Smokies Writing Program's summer workshops in poetry and prose. Classes are open to all interested writers but class size is limited; early registration is suggested.

UNC Asheville Offers Online Course for Lateral Entry Teachers

UNC Asheville and A-B Technical Community College will host an educational psychology distance learning online course designed for employed lateral entry teachers this spring. The course is designed for teachers who have their own classrooms and are seeking alternative licensing through the Regional Alternative Licensing Center.
