February “Writers at Home” Features David Madden and Eric Steineger

The Writers at Home series, sponsored by UNC Asheville's Great Smokies Writing Program, continues in February with readings by writers David Madden and Eric Steineger. The readings take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 17, at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St., in downtown Asheville. This event is free and open to the public.
David Madden, already with 11 novels to his credit, is now at work on two short novels and a memoir, "My Intellectual Life in the Army." His writing is the subject of "David Madden: A Writer for All Genres" (University of Tennessee Press, 2006), by Randy Hendricks and James Perkins. Madden's most recent book is "London Bridge in Plague and Fire" (University of Tennessee Press, 2012). He is the Robert Penn Warren Professor of Creative Writing, Emeritus, at Louisiana State University, and now lives in Black Mountain.
Eric Steineger is a local poet and teacher of composition, literature and technical writing at Asheville-Buncombe Technological Community College. He is poetry editor for The Citron Review, and his work has been featured in the Asheville Poetry Review, Elimae,The Los Angeles Review and The Sprinter Generation.
