March “Writers at Home” to feature Katherine Min and Beth Keefauver

The Writers at Home series, sponsored by UNC Asheville's Great Smokies Writing Program, continues in March with readings by writers Beth Keefauver and Katherine Min. The readings will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17 at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St., in downtown Asheville. This event is free and open to the public.
Katherine Min is an assistant professor of literature at UNC Asheville, and author of the novel "Secondhand World" (Alfred A. Knopf, 2006). She won the Sherwood Anderson Foundation Award in 2012, and previously has won awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, fellowships from the North Carolina State Arts Council and New Hampshire State Arts Councils and a Pushcart Prize. Her short stories have appeared in numerous publications and she is working to complete her second novel.
Beth Keefauver has taught creative writing and literature at Warren Wilson College, Western Carolina University and the University of Tennessee. Her fiction works have been published in journals including the Pisgah Review, Blue Lotus Review and is forthcoming in the anthology, "Phantom Manners: Contemporary Southern Gothic Fiction by Women." Keefauver will teach a course for the Great Smokies Writing Program this summer.
