Arthur Miller, George Bernard Shaw in Reader’s Theater Presentations This Summer

Plays by Arthur Miller and George Bernard Shaw will be featured in two summer Sunday afternoon Reader's Theater presentations at the N.C. Center for Creative Retirement. The Autumn Players, a troupe of seasoned actors from the Asheville Community Theater, will perform these dramatic readings at 2:30 p.m., with $5 admission, at UNC Asheville's Reuter Center.

Miller's "The Price," performed June 24 and directed by RoseLynn Katz, is a drama of two estranged brothers forced to reunite to sell off their family's attic treasures.

Shaw's "The Devil's Disciple" performed August 26, is set in Revolutionary-era New England, and features a case of mistaken identity – a free thinker mistaken for a local minister and put on trial by British authorities. Hal Hogstrom directs this drama full of Shaw's characteristic ironic twists.
