UNC Asheville to Host Holiday Party for Head Start Youngsters

UNC Asheville will host its annual Head Start Holiday Party from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the Highsmith University Union, Alumni Hall. Donated gifts are already wrapped and individually labeled for the 107 youngsters in the Pisgah View and Barnardsville Head Start centers who will attend.

This year's party will feature crafts, games, food, storytelling, dancing and Charles James, associate professor of chemistry, making his annual appearance as Santa Claus.

The UNC Asheville teaching fellows and party coordinator Hannah Van Cott have recruited entertainers, volunteers, and donations of gifts from all over campus. Students from organizations such as the University Ambassadors, Campus Crusade for Christ, the drama department and others will participate as volunteers.
