Republic of Korea Consul General He Beom Kim to Speak in Asheville

He Beom Kim, consul general for the Republic of Korea, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 in UNC Asheville's Reuter Center. Kim's talk, "The Republic of Korea, Its Role and Leadership: The New Economies and Politics of the Asia-Pacific," is co-sponsored by the WNC chapter of the World Affairs Council, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNC Asheville, and the university's department of political science.
Kim was recently promoted to his current position in the Consulate General in Atlanta after more than 30 years in government service, including positions with Korean embassies in Great Britain and Canada.
