“Writers at Home” Highlights Great Smokies Review Authors

Cathy Vance Agrella, Terry Gess and LJ Faulkner will read from their works in the next installment of Writers at Home, from UNC Asheville's Great Smokies Writing Program (GSWP). All three are contributors to The Great Smokies Review, GSWP's online literary journal. The reading is free and open to the public, and begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, at Malaprop's Bookstore/Café, 55 Haywood St., in downtown Asheville.

Tennessee-born Cathy Vance Agrella is currently working on a new novel. Her writings, short stories, poems, book and art reviews have been published in the Asheville Citizen-Times, The Laurel Review and elsewhere.

Terry Gess is a potter as well as an author. He chairs the Creative Arts Department – Professional Crafts Program at Haywood Community College, and is the author of "The River Must be Deep as Well as Wide: My Work as a Potter" (Art and Design, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, 1994).

LJ Faulkner, an Asheville native, whose career has spanned graphic design, marketing and business consulting, will read from her works.
