UNC Asheville Fall Art Season Begins with Selected Student Exhibition

UNC Asheville’s Department of Art will begin the new academic year with an exhibit of student art work selected by the Art faculty. The show, featuring more than a dozen works in a variety of media, opens on Wednesday, Aug. 10, and will remain on display through Sept. 6, at the Highsmith University Union Gallery on the campus.

UNC Asheville’s Department of Art features concentrations in ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The department’s 13-member faculty selected exemplary student works in these disciplines to begin the fall exhibition season.

The gallery is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and noon-6 p.m. on Sundays. A closing reception with the artists will be held in the gallery from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
