UNC Asheville Offers Prep Classes for New GRE Exam
June 15, 2011
The GRE exam will have a new format and revised content beginning August 1, and the Asheville Graduate Center at UNC Asheville will offer a new GRE prep course designed for the new exam, with classes starting on July 11. Registration is now open; classes will meet on the UNC Asheville campus.
The GRE Prep course will meet from 6-8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for four consecutive weeks, July 11-August 3. After the class officially ends at 8:30 p.m., the instructors stay another 30 minutes to help individual students with problem areas or just to give practice test items to those who want extra coaching and assistance.
The course is designed to increase familiarity with the various types of verbal, quantitative and analytical questions presented on the GRE computer-generated general test, required by most graduate programs for admission. Students will also learn test-taking strategies and work with test-simulation exercises. Cost for the course is $375, which includes a textbook, a book with 10 retired GRE exams, and a CD with practice tests. The registration deadline is July 1; late sign-up will result in an additional $15 fee.
