UPDATE: Brian Moore of Mission Health System to stand in for Janet Moore as final Fab Friday speaker

UPDATE: Brian D. Moore, Mission Health System's director of planning and public policy, will stand in for his colleague, Janet Moore (no relation).

Janet Moore, Mission Health System's director of marketing and web services, will be the final speaker for the spring Fab Friday series at UNC Asheville's North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement. Moore's presentation, "The Health Care Maze: Where Are We?" will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, at UNC Asheville's Reuter Center, in the Manheimer Room.

Moore's talk takes place at a time of tremendous flux within the health care system. Much of the federal health care reform law has not yet taken effect, but legal challenges to it are wending their way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The battle over the federal budget could impact the Medicaid and Medicare programs.

As chief information officer for Mission Health System, Moore keeps tabs on developments in Asheville, Raleigh and Washington, and will offer her assessment of where things stand and how health care delivery in Western North Carolina may be affected.
