"Cracks, Doorways, and Portals" – Poetry and Photography at UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library

Poet and photographer Tracey Schmidt will conduct a free poetry-writing workshop from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in UNC Asheville's Ramsey Library, Whitman Room, followed by a poetry reading and reception from 2-4 p.m. in the library's Blowers Gallery. The events are in conjunction with the "Cracks, Doorways, and Portals" exhibit of poetry and photography in the Blowers Gallery. The exhibit, a collaboration between Schmidt and photographer Laurent Weisenberger, combines images of doorways, dew drops and water reflections with works from Schmidt's first collection of poetry, "I Have Fallen in Love with the World." The works will be on exhibit through April 26. The events are free and open to the public.

The gallery is free and open to the public daily and most evenings. For more information, call 828.251.6436.
