UNC Asheville Dance Program Hosts Benefit Performance, “Everybody Can-Can”

UNC Asheville’s Dance Program will host its 14th annual benefit performance, “Everybody Can-Can,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium. Admission at the door is $5 or four cans of food. All canned goods will be donated to Manna Food Bank and cash proceeds will benefit UNC Asheville’s Dance Program.

The performance will feature more than 70 dancers from the university and the community performing in a wide variety of genres, including contemporary, Middle Eastern, ballet, and jazz. The evening showcases the rich variety of dance at UNC Asheville in technique, composition and repertory. In addition to the work of faculty and students, the program will feature the work of two area dance artists, Lisa Zahiya and Tonia Freeman. The performance is suitable for all ages.
