UNC Asheville to Host Lecture, “Jonah’s Whale of a Tale”

The story of Jonah, as considered by Judaism, Christianity and Islam, will be the subject of a lecture by Dr. Katherine Peters, “Jonah’s Whale of a Tale,” 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 in UNC Asheville’s Humanties Lecture Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Peters, a specialist in the history and religions of the ancient Near East, holds a Ph.D. from Emory University and lectures at Oglethorpe University. A former member of UNC Asheville’s faculty, Peters is collaborating with Cynthia Ho, UNC Asheville professor of Literature, on a world civilizations text for Oxford University Press.
