“Horse and Rider” Author to Present at UNC Asheville

Melissa Range, author of the award-winning book of poems, “Horse and Rider,” will read from her work at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in UNC Asheville’s Karpen Hall, Laurel Forum. The event is free and open to the public.
Range’s “Horse and Rider” won the 2010 Walt McDonald First-Book Prize. Range is the recipient of a writing fellowship from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass., a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award, and a Discovery/The Nation prize awarded by the Unterberg Poetry Center. Her poems have appeared in the Hudson Review, Image, the Paris Review, and other journals.
