“Pierced” – Photo Exhibit of Facial Adornment Opens at UNC Asheville

“Pierced,” an exhibit of portraits by photographer Leigh Svenson, is now on display and has an opening reception from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 in the Blowers Gallery at UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library. Svenson’s black-and-white photos, using the gelatin silver process, express his fascination with piercings.

Svenson has been an active photographer since the age of 12, and has a bachelor’s degree in art history from New York University. The exhibit at Blowers gallery is free and open to the public through October 30. The gallery is open daily with some evening viewing hours.
