Kaizen Jazz Trio Kicks off UNC Asheville’s Music Department Spring Concert Series

UNC Asheville's Music Department will kick off its spring semester concert series with three performances in January and February at Lipinsky Auditorium, including a free mid-day concert by the local jazz band, Kaizen.
Kaizen will perform at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19. The trio includes Mike Barnes on guitar, Mark McDaniel on bass and Jeff Sipe on drums. The performance will include improvisational jazz and incorporate other music styles. This concert is free and open to the public.
The UNC Asheville Jazz Band and the Studio 18 vocal jazz ensemble will present a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20. Students will perform big band and jazz vocal selections under the direction of Rich Willey and Melodie Galloway.
The UNC Asheville Wind Ensemble and Symphony, under the direction of Milton Crotts, will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27.
